Reia shook her head, this was stupid she couldn't believe they had two people call in sick leaving her, the hostess and the training waitress here to run the whole restaurant and it was a freaking friday! On top of that she had worked late the night before at Sals the night before offering to pick up a half a shift to do inventory. To make matters worse when she had finally made it hope sleep eluded her! She had tossed and turned for only god knew how long, her body being too warm and restless to get even close to sleep. And everything that she did to try and fix it hadn't worked so she was running on maybe an hours worth of sleep.
Reia had sent the training waitress back to do dishes after she messed up her third table, under normal circumstances she wouldn't have minded to say the least but with it this packed and the promise of it only getting busier she couldn't afford to redo tables. So she was the waitress on floor with the hostess jumping in when she could.
"Thanks for coming to Jade Gardens, my name is Reia and I will be your waitress this evening. Did you need a moment to look over the menu or have any question I can answer?" she smiled as she pulled out her ticket pad and her pen.
Reia would look over the tables with a quick scan to see where she had to go next, it was the best way to keep your time efficient and give the best customer service. She would nod to a table when they gesture for the check so they knew she saw them as she handled the customer she was currently with.
Ehnvee felt like something different for dinner tonight before she went out to the gym to work it all off. What better place then Jade Gardens? Maybe Reia was working, even though she doubted it. Reia seemed to work morning and afternoon shifts, which wouldn't be lasting very long. Ehnvee walked in and made her way to a little two person booth, and sat down. She whipped out the menu that was already sitting on the table to look it over. She scanned the room and saw Reia which made her smile, until she looked at how tired she was. Holy shit, had she gotten any sleep recently?
Reia moved from her current table to the kitchen putting in the order for the booth, picking up another tables order before heading away to deliver their food. She would smile to the nice older couple " here you guys go, one beef fried rice and one chicken balls and rice. Is there anything I can do for you?" The couple smiled shaking their heads so she would nod and head over to Ehnvee's table.
" Hey, I didn't expect to see you here tonight. Were you looking for me? Or just for a quick meal?" she was curious as she glanced around making sure everyone was alright before she sat down beside Ehnvee letting out a soft breath.
" I got about five minutes" she grinned nodding to the hostess to let her know she was going to sit for a moment and that she could take over just incase something came up... which she doubted since she was usually pretty good at timing when she takes a moment.
" So how are you doing? What are you up to?" she grinned leaning back against the booth.
Vihktor was still getting used to town, and had a lot of his meals delivered directly to his house, but he was feeling adventurous and man did Kung Pao chicken sound good. So did crab rangoons and fried rice and egg rolls... yeah, it was time to check out Jade Gardens.
He pulled up to the restaurant and headed in, wearing a black modern cut suit without a tie. The jacket was open revealing a crimson red satin shirt that clung to his muscled form like a second skin. The shoes were shined so well you could see yourself in them. Vihktor had a tailor in New York City that he wouldn't give up for the world, though the man was getting up in years. Still, Vihktor trusted him, and he was reasonable with pricing.
Vihktor made his way through the crowd and to a seat, holding the front of his suit as he sat down and picked up a menu. He ordered a glass of wine to start and was told his waitress would be there soon. Man his stomach was rumbling... He began to look over the menu, and so many things jumped out at him. Well, this was a celebration after all. Vihktor was settled into a new town, his company was going strong and they had landed the contract he'd been hoping for. It was time for him to treat himself right.
Ehnvee laughed and leaned back. She slipped the menu back behind the little table stand. "I felt like something other then Italian for dinner, so I thought Chinese sounded pretty good! Plus, I have the night off. One of the new girls at Sals complained about not getting enough hours, even though Trista doesn't need more hours she's terrible. So Sal gave her my shift tonight to shut her up. I told him it was fine, but I think he picked me because I ran out on him the other night with you, leaving him high and dry with a busy dinning room."
Evee laughed and sighed. She looked around. Jade's was busy, but not as bad as Sals the other night. She should have worked here instead! She turned to Reia as she noticed a table getting low on drinks. She knew she'd be disappearing for a few minutes so she might as well give her her order. "How about you bring me back some Kung Pao Chicken, with white rice instead of fried. And then an order of crab rangoons, and two spring rolls? Oh, and sweet and sour!!!"
Evee rubbed her stomach and smiled big. "I'm starving! Oh, and can I just have a water tonight? Not feeling into any pop."
Reia saw the male walk in and she followed him to the table seeing the hostess take his drink order before blinking and looking back to Ehnvee " wha... yeah sorry I will ...go put your order in and be back once I do a round" she would shake her head as she scribbled onto the ticket.
With a small shake of the head Reia moved over to his table looking down at her scribble pad " Good evening, My name is Reia and I will be your waitress this evening. Is there anything I can get you to start or any questions you need answered?" she didn't remember seeing him before so it might happen he might have questions.
Reia was really glad she had worn her soft scent but strong pit stick so that she didn't smell like sweat from working straight through the days pretty much. She had even worn her contacts today since when it was this busy her glasses got in the way so her bluish green eyes would meet his as she waited for his answer.
Vihktor lifted his head and smiled to the girl who came up, smirking. He had overheard the order Ehnvee had made nearby. "Actually, I'll have what she's having... man, I've always wanted to say that! Oh, except make mine fried rice, and egg rolls, not spring rolls." His eyes met hers and he smiled, licking his lips a little nervously. "And another glass of this wine, when you've got a chance. This is an excellent year." He lifted the glass and swirled it a little. "Could you possibly find out what vintage this is?" He hoped he wasn't overwhelming the girl, but she seemed to be pretty in control considering how busy the place was that night.
Evee watched as Reia walked up to the man who wasn't too far from her. He ordered what she was ordering, minus a few changes. She smirked and pulled out her phone, checking Facebook. She needed to distract herself from her hunger. Her stomach flipped and flopped inside, making occasional grumbles which she hoped to the Virgin that only she could hear.
She was also blood thirty, but hoped she could make it until the weekend when she was at the Iron Mark working and could borrow another co-worker that didn't mind volunteering, especially since he found no sexual pleasure out of it. Sometimes, she liked working with gay men.
Reia smiled to the male nodding as she quickly wrote everything down and she would grin " For sure, I'll be back with that information a soon as I can" she grinned turning on her heels to head towards the kitchen.
Reia was rather short but she walked with a small beat to her walk, and she was clearly a pretrans getting closer to her transition as her scent was starting to shift with her preparing body. " Hey, two orders up can you put a rush on these two please, a favor for me" she nodded to the cook with a grin as he nodded back at her before doing her rounds before finding the hostess.
" The gentleman would like to know what wine you selected for him, and I figured since he is going to be waiting a moment we would put the bottle on the table " she liked to keep the customers happy, especially the big orderers since it helped the business and well they usually were the better tips.
The hostest passed her the bottle of the white wine with a chill stick in it and she grinned reading the bottle before approaching the male " So it is a new one in the store, its called HENRY OF PELHAM SAUVIGNON BLANC, and it is not that old but apparently it is one of those light ones that go great with the food" she grinned setting the bottle on the table.
" And for your patience the rest of the bottle is on us" which really wasn't more then a glass and a half since it was a long skinny bottle.
" If there is nothing else you need, I will go see how your food is coming" she would give him a moment to answer before moving off and serving her other tables on the way to the kitchen.
After Reia left to put in his order, Vihktor tapped his foot to the music playing over the speakers, taking in the restaurant. He was enjoying the vaguely Asian music before he realized it was 'My Heart Will Go On' played on a decidely Chinese stringed instrument. He chuckled at that realization and pulled out his phone, opening up Angry Birds. He grumbled and growled at the phone as he was stuck on a level and had been for days.
He was so engrossed with his game he almost didn't see his waitress walk back up. He cleared his throat, putting his phone aside and chuckling softly. "Sorry about that..." His eyes followed as she placed a chilled bottle of wine on the table and he smiled. "Oh that is wonderful, you didn't have to do that. Seriously, it is no rush." Almost on cue, his stomach grumbled, and Vihktor laughed. "Well, apparently he thinks it is. Either way, I do appreciate it, and I will definitely be adding that wine to my collection." Vihktor's 'collection' consisted of a few cheap wines and one expensive bottle he had received as a gift. He hoped one day to own a wine cellar and to expand, but it hadn't happened yet and he kept finding himself in smaller places.
Vihktor nodded and smiled as Reia went off to her job, waiting a few moments before picking up his phone again. It wasn't long before he was engrossed in his game once more.
"YES!" he exclaimed, pumping a fist. He had finally beaten the level he was stuck on. It took a full few minutes for Vihktor to remember where he was and he cleared his throat, looking around. He made a few failed and stumbling hand gestures to try and explain himself, but no one was sitting with him so he finally gave up and ducked his head again.
Evee couldn't help but chuckle at the random outburst by one of the men dining at the Gardens tonight. He was sitting alone, and playing on his phone. She shook her head, reading his thoughts. "About time, huh?"
She didn't mean to say that out loud. Her eyes widened and she looked down, picking her own phone back up in a rush to hopefully cause the man to think she was just talking to herself.
Vihktor heard the girl whose order he had almost copied speak up and he looked her way with a grin. She was hiding herself so thoroughly in her phone that he knew she must have been talking to him. "Hmm, what was that?" He was in the table right next to her, so the conversation didn't have to carry far. Although...
"Perhaps this is forward of me, but you're here seemingly by yourself, and I am here by myself... and I find that a meal is most often best when shared. Would you care to join me?" He motioned to the chair in front of him, using his foot to kick it out a little.
Reia grinned looking over to him as he apologized and she laughed shaking her head a little bit " No problem, I play that game all the time! I actually am stuck on... oh I don't even think I could remember which level it was I have been playing so much lately " she giggled biting her lip before looking over her shoulder.
" I'll be right back with your order" she smirked as the bell from the kitchen dinged and she would rush back to claim her large circular tray.
Reia smirked loading up Evee's plates on tray, then his tray on another and she picked them both up balancing them on her palms as she moved her way through the maze of chairs and tables. She decided not to make her friend wait any longer and she would take the longer way around so that it made sense for her to go their first.
" Here is your water, and your food Evee, are you going to the gym after" she figured she would make quick conversation while she could
" if you are you should text me on your way back and maybe we will try to get coffee...If I can get out of her" she grinned " I have some more questions for you about that thing we were talking about"
She grinned as her first tray emptied and she slid it under his tray " Ill be back" she grinned waving with her free hand as she headed over to Vihktor's table.
"Sorry about the wait" she grinned setting down the different dishes, making sure that they were not too close to the edge or to him so that his suit wouldn't get ruined by any of the grease or sauce.
" Okay, so you have your choice of tactics here" she grinned pulling out a utensil set wrapped in a napkin in one hand, and a set of black chopsticks in the other " traditional or modern?"
Evee looked down at her plate. She had fried rice, and huge egg rolls. This was not her order. She laughed and looked up at Reia giving her food to the male who just asked her to sit and dine with him. She slowly got up and picked up her food, managing to get her plate, the plate with the egg rolls and crab rangoons on it, and her water in the other hand. Thank the Virgin she was a waitress and had great balance. She gently set everything down in front of her as she took the seat he had kicked out for her. "Well, I think I have the wrong food. Did I hear right that you stole my order?"
Evee winked up at Reia as she waited for this males response. She pulled out the traditional chopsticks and plucked a piece of chicken off the males plate. She also had a regular fork at her place setting.
Vihktor grinned up at Ehnvee as she made her way to his table, standing up when she neared. "I have been craving Kung Pao for DAYS... so really, I think you stole mine." He winked teasingly, looking down at the food that Reia had placed before him. It wasn't quite right, and as he spotted the dishes in Ehnvee's hands he realized the two had gotten mixed up. "It looks as though I may have stolen more than I realized." He laughed and shifted the plates in front of him to the empty chair, reaching out and taking the dishes from Ehnvee's hands. He looked down at his and smirked up at her. "This looks a little light on the chicken... I do believe you snagged some of my food. Well, that settles it. You've got to dine with me now, as payback." He grinned as he pulled out the chair for her, standing behind it and waiting for her to sit before making his way back to his own seat.
